Baseball Uniform Buying Guide for Clubs & Leagues: Jerseys, Pants and Full Sets
Quick answer
A baseball uniform is a set, not a shirt: a jersey and pants produced together in your club colours, with your lettering, player names and numbers, in a size run that usually spans youth and adult players in the same order. The real decision is the look — a fully sublimated modern set, where everything is printed into the fabric, or the traditional build, where the jersey is plain and the lettering and numbers are stitched on in tackle twill. Both are legitimate; they suit different leagues, budgets and tastes. At Alisterz in Sialkot, Pakistan, full sets are made with a pre-production sample in 5–7 days (a free sample is available), bulk production in 15–20 days, tiered wholesale pricing, and worldwide shipping by DHL, FedEx or sea.

What a full set actually includes
The jersey carries the identity: club name or lettering across the chest, the player number on the back, and the player’s name where your league uses one. Two constructions dominate. The button-front jersey is the traditional baseball look — a shirt that buttons down the front, usually paired with plain fabric and stitched lettering. The pullover jersey has no buttons, which makes it the natural base for full sublimation: the design, pinstripes, lettering and numbers are all printed into the fabric before sewing.
The pants are part of the uniform, not an afterthought. Baseball pants come in full-length and knicker (below-the-knee) cuts, plain or with a side stripe or piping that matches the jersey. The practical point for buyers: order the pants in the same run as the jerseys. A white pant from one production run and a white pant from another can differ by a shade, and on a team lined up along the baseline, a shade is visible.
What is not in the set unless you spec it: caps, socks and belts are separate items with separate sizing and minimums. If your league order includes them, raise it at the quote stage so everything is priced and scheduled together rather than chased later.
Sublimated vs traditional: the honest comparison
This is the same fork our American football uniforms post walks through, because both sports share the twill tradition. Here is the baseball version.
| Full sublimation | Traditional twill | |
|---|---|---|
| How it is made | Lettering, numbers, stripes and colours printed into the fabric before sewing | Plain jersey; letters and numbers cut from twill fabric and stitched on |
| Look | Modern, integrated; pinstripes and gradients cost nothing extra | Classic programme look: raised, stitched lettering you can feel |
| Design freedom | Unlimited — any colour, any pattern, names and numbers included in the pass | The lettering only; the base jersey stays plain |
| Durability | Cannot crack, peel or fade — the colour is in the fabric | Tough stitching, but letter edges can lift after seasons of washing if stitch density is skimped on |
| Cost structure | Priced per set; scales cleanly with quantity | Priced per letter and per digit — long names and two-digit numbers add up |
| Best for | Travel ball, youth programmes, leagues wanting a modern identity | Traditional leagues and programmes where the stitched look is the identity |
The pattern we see: youth and travel programmes mostly land on sublimation, because rosters are large, budgets are watched, and a growing player gets an identical replacement next season. Established adult leagues with a classic identity often stay with twill and accept the per-letter cost as the price of that look. Our wider decoration comparison explains where sublimation, embroidery and screen print each win across all sports.
Youth sizing is where baseball orders are won or lost
Baseball is a youth-heavy sport, and a league order typically covers several age groups at once. That creates two sizing traps:
- Mixing youth and adult grades on one list. A youth large and an adult small are different garments on different grades. List youth and adult sizes as separate lines, each with its own counts — the same discipline our size chart guide sets out for every sport.
- Guessing sizes for growing players. Collect actual sizes from coaches or parents into one roster spreadsheet — name, number, size per player — and produce to that list. Our step-by-step ordering guide covers the full flow from that list to delivery.
One structural tip for leagues: add a small buffer of unnumbered jerseys in the most common youth sizes to the main order. Late registrations happen every season, and a buffer set bought at the tier price is far cheaper than a rush top-up of six jerseys mid-season.
Ordering for a whole league
A league order is usually several teams in one design family: same colours and lettering, different team names or age-group variations, sizes from the youngest division to adult coaches. Structured as one order, the quantities across teams work toward the same per-style minimums and the same pricing tiers — the normal way our custom soccer uniforms buyers structure club orders too. Structured as five separate small orders across the season, the same uniforms cost more per set and arrive in five deliveries. Send one combined list and we will quote it combined.
MOQ and pricing, honestly
Minimums are per style: many of our baseball styles start from 100 pieces, some at 500, and your quote states the exact figure before you commit. Our MOQ guide explains how per-style minimums work when an order combines jerseys, pants and several age groups.
Pricing is tiered, so the per-set price falls as the order grows. With twill, ask for the lettering to be itemised: a roster of two-digit numbers and long surnames carries more stitching than a roster of single digits, and an honest quote shows that instead of burying it. With sublimation, the artwork is set up once and price is driven by quantity alone.
Frequently asked questions
Should we choose sublimation or the traditional twill look? Choose the look your league actually wants first, then check the arithmetic. Sublimation gives you unlimited design, included names and numbers, and exact reorders. Twill gives you the classic raised lettering, priced per letter and digit. For large youth programmes, sublimation usually wins on cost and logistics; for a traditional adult league, twill is often the point of the uniform.
Can youth and adult sizes be in the same order? Yes — that is the standard league structure. One design, one production run, youth and adult size lists kept as separate lines. Quantities across the age groups in the same style count toward the same minimum.
Do the pants have to come from the same order as the jerseys? They should. Colour is matched across the set because both garments are produced under one order. Pants ordered separately in a later run can drift a shade from the jerseys — and white is the least forgiving colour for drift.
Can every jersey carry the player’s name and number? Yes. Send one roster list (name, number, size per player) and each jersey is produced to it. On sublimated sets the names and numbers are printed as part of the design; on twill sets they are cut and stitched per player, which is itemised in the quote.
What is the minimum order for baseball uniforms? It varies by style — many start from 100 pieces, some at 500 — and it is confirmed in your quote. A league combining several teams and age groups in one design usually clears the minimum comfortably.
How long before the season should we order? Work backwards: sample 5–7 days, a few days for your approval, bulk production 15–20 days, then roughly 4–7 days of air shipping. About six weeks before opening day is comfortable. A free sample is available on first orders — use it to check the fit across one youth and one adult size before the full run is cut.
